Without salt no PVC
Salt is eaten, every child knows that. Salt is spread on the roads, at least every driver is aware of that. However, who knows that salt is also included in our window frames, floor coverings and computer keyboards?
This is at least indirectly the case. Because the chloride content in salt - also called sodium chloride - is a decisive component of polyvinyl chloride, or in short PVC. The chlorine necessary for PVC production is won from the sodium chloride dissolved in water by means of electrolysis.
