Salt Socks to Combat Cold Feet
People who have chronically cold feet or have caught a cold should try salt socks. This old household remedy stimulates blood flow, stimulates the metabolism and warms.
And this is how it’s done: place a pair of cotton socks in a three to five percent brine solution (30 to 50 gram salt in a litre of water) and let them saturate. Remove socks, wring out, pull on and pull on a pair of wool socks on top or wind a dry towel around them. Put your feet up for about a half to one hour. Alternatively, you can wear the socks overnight in bed.
Important: After removing the salt socks, rinse feet thoroughly with lukewarm water.
