Originally, the brand of CÉRÉBOS® was created by a French chemist who - upon trying to cure his sick boy - discovered that adding a small amount of calcium phosphate helped to prevent fine ground salt from caking.
That was more than hundred years ago, back in 1892. After developing a suitable, innovative product packaging, he launched the first shaker of CÉRÉBOS® table salt to the French market in 1902. The chemist named his product "CÉRÉBOS" after the Roman goddess of the crops - "Ceres" - and the bone disease his son was suffering from - "os".
Today, the brand of CÉRÉBOS® is owned by esco, and the product range has been continuously expanded to a variety of vacuum and sea salt products that are available in various grain and package sizes.
