Swifter Drug Approval Using esco Salt with CEP Certificate

In summer 2009 esco was awarded the important CEP certificate. The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Health Care (EDQM) has listed esco salt in its database with retrospective effect since July 2009. For esco's clients from the pharmaceutical sector, this means faster approval procedures for their medicines.

"I am delighted about the listing in the EDQM database. The certificate showing this database entry is a prerequisite for many clients to purchase our pharmaceutical salt", states Adriane Schaefer, responsible for quality management at esco. The reason for this is that the products of drugs manufacturers are approved more swiftly when the individual active ingredients have been sourced from manufacturers holding the CEP Certificate.

CEP is the acronym for "Certificate of Suitability of Monographs of the European Pharmacopoeia" and signifies that that product of the certified manufacturer meets the requirements of the European dispensatory (Pharmacopoeia). The drug manufacturer using esco salt no longer has to produce further evidence regarding such substances. The European Pharmacopoeia contains all of the applicable and recognised regulations concerning the quality, handling and designation of pharmaceutical products.

Adriane Schaefer is convinced that the CEP Certificate will make esco pharmaceutical salt even more appealing to the customers. Clients "spontaneously offering their congratulations on the very day the listing appeared in the database is an initial indication of this."
